He Loves You
I was listening to a song the other day and thought to myself how powerful the message in there is. I also felt I should share it with as many as I can (please download it if you can) and tell you too that may be you’re out there and thinking to yourself “I’ve fallen too far, I’ve gone so far out and don’t even know my way back. He can’t have me back. I don’t even want to have myself back!”
You’re thinking how can the Father still love me? How can I possibly get back on track? How can I make it up to Him? May be you had your faith and trust in the King of kings once, and along the way you lost it, it stopped making sense….and you’ve gone back and forth wondering whether to “take God back” (as ironic as that is). You’ve wallowed in self pity, beat yourself up, replayed all the things you could have done differently, felt the aches in every corner of your heart, all sorts of voices have drained all the life out of you, too many fingers pointing, gallons of tears rolling…you feel you’ve had it and maybe just maybe it’s time to let it pass…and let things be….
Maybe you’re a backslidden Christian, a runner that’s lost sight of the finish line…slowly giving up on the race or a Christian living in a basket of compromise. Maybe you walked away; trotted off onto a self made path. Maybe you feel like you’re trying so hard but for every step forward you keep making two backwards. Maybe you feel abandoned by the Lord or like you don’t deserve to receive His love. You’ve always contemplated surrendering your life to God but have felt more comfortable living in between... a bit of Him a bit of all the other things….it hasn’t given you peace or satisfaction.
My friend, DO NOT GIVE UP, it’s not too late. His arms are wide open (those arms that He stretched out on that cross) ready to receive you. Just walk back to Him…open a fresh page. What then shall separate us from the Love of God? He hasn’t given up on you, for heaven’s sake, don’t give up on yourself. He loves you… His love goes DEEP ENOUGH and you haven’t missed your chance.
DEEP ENOUGH by Anthony Brown
Chorus:
His love goes deep enough to forgive the
unforgivable
it’s strong enough to hold you up when you are
falling down
how do I know? Coz I’m standing here to tell you
in this moment
I know it sounds crazy, but that’s the way that he
loves you and me
enough to look past all your faults and see your
needs
To forgive you when he knows that you might do it
again…
And like a father to a child he’ll never give up
on you, he’ll never throw in the towel
Verse:
Listen, did I miss my chance?
Did I sell it for a temporary thrill?
Is it possible for God to get the glory from me
still?
I gave away pieces of myself to so many other
things…
So many other things
And I felt like
Maybe it’s too late for God to use me
So I began to hate myself I started to think that
I would never see today
Then he showed me, who he is… and now I can say
Special Chorus:
His love goes deep enough (To forgive the
unforgivable)
Ooo its strong enough (To hold you up when you are
falling down)
(How do I know) How do I know?
(Coz I’m standing here to tell you in this moment)
I know it sounds crazy
(But that’s the way that he loves you and me) He
loves me yeah.
(Enough to look past all your faults and see your
needs) He loves me yeah
(To forgive you when he knows that you might do it
again) Do it again
(But like a father to a child he’ll never) Give up
on you
(He’ll never…) throw in the towel. (Repeat 2 times
)
Bridge:
You didn’t miss your chance, I’m here to tell you
it’s still possible… oh possible yes it is.
You gave away pieces of yourself, but he’s the
potter, he is a potter, and he can put you back together!
Oh, even if it feels like it, it’s not too late
God can still use you, I’m a witness
He just needs you to love yourself, there’s no
need to think
That you will never see the day
Coz when he shows you who he is, you’ll be able to
say…
His love goes deep enough (To forgive the
unforgivable)… … …
Amen!
